Cervical verrucous carcinoma is a very well-differentiated variant of squamous cell carcinoma with a locally invasive growth pattern and pushing, rather than infiltrating, tumor margin. The single most important recommendation of this review is that verrucous carcinoma should be considered when the clinician is faced with a malignant- looking lesion which pathologically is reported as benign. A large biopsy is required along with discussion of clinical behavior with the pathologist. However, detailed imaging studies, including Doppler ultrasonography and magnetic resonance imaging, may provide early precise diagnosis. The choice of treatment should be radical hysterectomy with lymphadenectomy.
