Liposarcoma is a malignant mesenchymal neoplasm that arises from adipose tissue, most commonly in the retroperitoneum and lower extremities. Liposarcoma of the head and neck is rare. Liposarcoma of the oral cavity demonstrates a predilection for the cheek. Liposarcoma which originates from the tongue is rare and very few cases had been reported in the literature. The appropriate diagnosis is based on the histopathological evaluation. Wide surgical excision is the treatment of choice, with limited data to support the use of radiation therapy or chemotherapy. We present a case of myxoid liposarcoma of the tongue occurring in a 36-year-old man who complains of a painless mass in the tongue for half year. He received tongue tumor wide excision and the tumor was reported as myxoid liposarcoma. No metastasis is noted from physical examination and image study. There was no evidence of local recurrence after a follow-up period of 6 months.
