本研究係取材民國71年1月至74年12月出生於馬偕醫院低出生體重(≤1500 gm)的早產兒349名,139位早產兒死亡。52名年齡2至6歲之早產學齡前兒童回來接受完整追踪檢查。我們施行視力檢查,眼位檢查,細隙燈檢查前眼部,以1%Mriacyl點眼做屈光檢查。結果顯示,就全體屈光狀態而言,遠視眼有88眼(84.6%)。近視有9眼(8.65%)。散光有48眼(46.2%)且以近視性散光為多31眼(29.5%);這些散光軸以”With the rule”為主(87.5%)。這些孩童現今的屈光狀態,分別與出生時體重或懷孕週數之間無線性關係存在。另外斜視,弱視的發生率各有11位孩童(21.2%)比足月生產的兒童高。
A study was made of refraction and observation in 52 children who were born in MMH prematurity and low bisthweight (≤1500gm). The examination of the eyes include biomicroscope slip lamp, visual acuity, cover test/cover-uncover test, Hirschbery light reflex, 1% Mydriacyl refraction and direct/indirect ophthalmoscopy. The distribution of refraction, in spherical equivalent, ranged from-7.75D to +5.5D and mean +0.64±2.0D. The distribution curve of refraction is in mild hyperopic state. The result revealed 84.6% of the eyes in hyperopia and 8.65% in myopia, and the axis of cylinder errors show 87.5% of the astigmatic children have ”with-the-rule” astigmatism. But the refraction of these children did not have any relation with birthweight or gestational age. We also find the high incidence of amblyopia and strabismus, 21.2% respectively.
