Japanese newspapers and academic studies had always been mindful of the Chinese Cultural Revolution. Because of their different points of view, the Japanese perspective on the Chinese Cultural Revolution was very complicated. Some of them praised and supported the Chinese Cultural Revolution, some criticized and denied it, some criticized it with understanding, and some criticized that it signified the deterioration of Chinese ideas.
