David Hume (1711-1776) was a modem Scottish philosopher who composed works in fields of philosophy, history, politics, economics, religion, and ethics, He was considered among the most important figures in the history of Western philosophy and history. Besides the introduction, this article first discusses the human nature in Hume's political philosophy, and then indicates the highlight of his political philosophy based on origin and authority of the government, challenge to the integrative social contract theory, and the ideal republic Lastly, the article analyzes Home's view of history, and concludes all themes brought up in the article.
