Microscope work can cause musculoskeletal and visual problems due to awkward and prolonged static postures with repetitive movements. However, we have difficulty putting prevention into practice. As for pathologists and medical laboratory technologists with regular use of microscope, they often complain getting stressed by taking the responsibility of final diagnosis and suffering from biohazard during the process of dealing with specimens. We reported cases of microscope users who have musculoskeletal disorders gathering through our basic occupational health services(BOHS). These workers didn't use ergonomically optimized instruments for a long time and they had visual symptoms by impaired illumination at workplace. We did a careful and thorough literature review and provided an improvement plan. This article aims to share our experiences on BOHS with other personnel who are interested in this issue and further prevent microscope work related occupational diseases and injuries.
