The purposes of this study were: l. to understand the prediction of basic motor fitness (pretest) to hitting score; 2. to understand the prediction of basic motor fitness (post-test) to hitting score; 3.to compare the differences of basic motor fitness between pretest and post-test; and 4.to compare the difference of hitting score. The subjects were 37 baseball players drawn from Nan-Kang Senior High Industrial School and Kung-Wu Technical College. The collected data were analyzed by multiple stepwise regression analysis and t-test. The results were as the follows: 1.In the pretest, the right arm strength was the only predictor variable that could predict hitting score; 2.In the post-test, right arm strength and could validly predict hitting score; 3.All the items of basic motor fitness of post-test Were better than those of pretest. 4.The hitting score of pos-test was better than that of pretest.
