Purpose: Good hit and defense are key factors that decided win or loss in baseball games. Bat weight and swing velocity had high correlation that would be influenced one's hit ability. Therefore, the purpose of the study was to investigate the relationship between bat weight and swing velocity. Methods: Fifty-three of division one baseball players participated in this study. All of the subjects swung different weighted bats such as 1200, 900, 850, 800, 750, 700, 650, 600, and 490g with five rounds. Swing velocity were measured by StrokeMaxxer test equipment. High speed camera with 1000 Hz calculated the formula of swing velocity from StrokeMaxxer test equipment. (Vs (Strike speed, km/h)=Vc (StrokeMaxxer test value) x 0.871+17.88). One-way repeated measurement ANOVA and Least significance difference (LSD) were used to statistic analysis. Results: The results of study shown that bats weights would be influenced swing velocity. The heavy one is slower than light one. For example, 1200g bat slower than 900g (normal weight bat); 800g bat slower than 750g bat; and 700g bat slowerthan 600g, respectively. There is relationship between grip force and swing velocity, while above 800g bat was swung. Conclusion: Therefore, it suggested that baseball players need to swing 750g and 650g bat for improving swing velocity. Grip force is important factor, when baseball players swing above 800g bat.
