Rapidly Expanding Recurrent Lipoma of the Ankle in an Infant-A Case Report

Lipomas are by far the most common soft-tissue tumors that most commonly develop in anywhere of the body. Intramuscular lipomas are soft tissue tumors that very rarely occur in children. These tumors tend to be slow-growing and are benign. However, soft tissue malignancies are uncommon in adults and even less common in children. Early surgical excision will benefit the patient, as it aids in establishing the final diagnosis. A boy, younger than one-year-old, had suffered from a rapidly recurrent lipoma of right posterior ankle after the first operative excision (7.5-month-old). Then he received the secondary operation of tumor excision on his 9-month-old age. Because of young age, rapid recurrence and at an uncommon area, we reported this rare case.
