摘要


This study was performed to evaluate the effects of intervertebral separation under different cervical traction angles. 17 healthy young adults of under 30, 7 male and 10 females, were tested. All of them denied neck trauma or pain history. In this study, we used Digit-Trac E 60 KS cervical traction machine. Intermittent cervical traction supine position, with 30 pound traction force under 0∘, flexion 30∘and 15∘between head and trunk. Force lasting for 8 seconds followed by unloading for 6 seconds alternately, total traction for 20 minutes were given. X-ray for cervical spine lateral view were taken before and after traction. Then measured the distance of anterior and posterior interverbral space (IVS) and facet joint separaction. Data analysis was done by computer with pair test. Results of this study showed that all the anterior and posterior IVS of cervical spine are increased after 0∘and flexion 30∘ traction, but not at extension 15∘. The order of increase of IVS is as follow: 0∘,anterior IVS C4-5(12%) > C3-4(8%), posterior IVS C6-7(37%) > C3-4(22%) > C4-5(19%) > C3-6(19%) ; flexion 30∘, anterior IVS C2-3 (21%) > C4-5(16%) > C5-6(15%) > C3-4(10%) , posterior IVS C6-7(20%) > C5-6(19%) > LC4-5(17%). There is significant increase of anterior IVS observed in C2-3 and C5-6 at flexion 30∘traction, but not at 0∘. The separation of facet joint is only present at extension 15∘ traction, but not at others.
