The purpose of this study was to investigate the curriculum and instruction for open classroom in pre-school in England. Observing and interviewing were employed as the research methods. Six classrooms in six nursery schools(pre-schools)in Cambridgeshire were observed. There searcher interviewed two professors, six headteachers and four classroom teachers. Five questions regarding the curriculum and instruction for the open classroom in the pre-school were asked during the interviewing. The researcher analyzed curriculum planning, teaching material designing, learning environment, teacher's role, instructional methods and children's learning as the finding of this study. Some suggestions in implementing the open classroom for Taiwan have been provided. Four ideas for future study have been suggested as well.
