摘要

貧窮到底和社會工作有著什麼樣的關係？因為貧窮這個問題，而誕生了社會工作的老祖宗－COS^2和settlement house^3；社會工作到底和窮人有著什麼樣的歷史角力？在探討「貧窮」的本質之前，影響我們判斷是否貧窮的「貨幣」，又有著什麼樣的意義？貨幣到底如何影響著現代社會的生活？社會工作面對經濟的全球化、貧富差距的擴大，我們到底該如何看待這些問題，又該如何行動？透過齊美爾的寓言故事，讓我們能夠站在更清明的視野，來看待這些問題，並讓我們擺脫「貨幣」的狹隘所帶來的枷鎖，超越貨幣所夷平的單一世界。如此，社會工作者才能重新站在人性的存在本質，為美好生活開創一條不一樣的道路。而這也是本文探討這些問題，最想要試圖回答的問題。

There is inseparable relation between poverty and social work. In the history of social work, Charity Organization Society (COS) and the settlement house were came to solve the problems of poverty. Does lack of money mean poverty? What is the nature of money in our modern life? What should we social workers do in face of globalization and poverty? Through the story said by Simmel, this article tried to answer these questions above and advocate an alternative community work approach.
