摘要

李歐梵的經典之作―《上海摩登》具有宏觀視野，書中許多觀點深具啟發，但是有關「商務印書館」的問題方面，卻有待商榷與補充。本文的討論主要集中在以下三方面：一、其忽略了經營商務印書館的重要人物張元濟；二、其對商務印書館《東方雜誌》發刊狀況的說法，對照實際頗有出入；三、其誤以《申報》為商務印書館之刊物。

Leo Oufan Lee's classic work, Shanghai Modern: the Flowering of a New Urban Culture in China, 1930-1945, not only has macroscopic views but also enlightens the readers in many ways. However, in the issue of ”The Commercial Press,” there are some views need to be discussed and renewed. There are three aspects discussing in the article. First of all, Leo Lee neglected to mention a major person Zhang Yuan Ji who was the manager of ”The Commercial Press.” Secondly, the statement of issuing magazine of The Eastern Miscellany was inconsistent comparing to the reality. Finally, Shenbao was misconceived as a publication of ”The Commercial Press.”
