從文明科技發展看數位典藏的時代意義－本質、迷思與發展趨勢

人類文明發展數千年以來，在科技發展發生了長足的進步。本文從文明科技的歷史回顧來反思數位典藏的本質與時代意義，人類的資訊保存與思想傳播的媒介，由口語記憶、文字、印刷、攝影、圖像逐步演進至今的數位方式，各種形式的資訊內容，透過科技技術的發展，提供服務於普遍的社會大眾，不僅達到資訊的水平傳播，更達到資訊的垂直傳承，即是數位典藏的本質與意義。然而，執行數位化工作的過程中，總有許多的迷思，包含：數位年代是否就是歷史的終結、數位化帶來一勞永逸的便利性、及數位化工作的角色定位，這些迷思問題獲得解答後，本文嘗試對未來數位典藏事業提出五點發展趨勢：1.透過網路科技整合數位內容、使用者服務、科技工具；2.運用科技發展串連資訊使用者（前端）與管理者（後端）的交融；3.朝向知識管理的變革；4.使用者研究的重視；及5.跨領域知識交融。

Through out the human civilization, we are now standing on a critical position and have experienced an extremely huge development on the technology field. The article is focused on the develop history of technology and civilization. Furthermore, we would also like to review the meaning and essence of Digital Archives. The media which preserve the information and disseminate our thoughts include oral language, writing system, printing, photograph, image and digital type. Through the development of technology, every type of information and content can be propagated toward the general public. The information can not only be disseminated levelly but also become a part of our cultural heritage. We may say that the inheritance of cultural heritage is the essence of Digital Archives. However, several myths and questions are produced and launched during the digitization, such as: Is the digital era the end of history? Is digitization a job that can assist you complete the preservation once and for all? How do we orientate the role of digitization? After the solutions are provided, we will focuses on the trend of the development of the future Digital Archives. The points of the trend are as the following: 1. The digital content, user service and IT technology are integrated by the internet related technology. 2. The Communitas of information users (frontend) and managers (backend) can be linked by the technology. 3. The knowledge management will be the focus of change. 4. The emphasis on the user research and experience. 5. More communication will be made across different fields.
