從資源建置及交流觀點探討中文人名權威紀錄消歧議題

Issues Related to Chinese Name Authority Disambiguation in View of Resource Establishment and Exchange

摘要

區分同姓名不同人物，不僅是圖書館人名權威控制重要的任務，也是學術人員正確評估學術產出重要的助力之一。本研究目的為歸納名稱權威建置主要之消歧欄位，從資料建檔及資源交流合作角度，探討消歧資料著錄及應用之跨語言共通議題，及中文環境之特殊議題。透過文獻探討圖書館及VIAF、ORCID、ISNI等名稱資源採用的消除人名歧異方式，進而針對名稱、年代等權威紀錄重要欄位，抽樣比較「臺灣書目整合查詢系統」（SMRT）之中文人名權威與VIAF相對應紀錄之著錄異同。研究結果提出之建議包括改善消歧欄位之著錄，建請臺灣學術研究人員及早善用國際標準人名識別符號如ORCID或ISNI，採用分階段名稱消歧作業程序，將有助提升名稱消歧精確度及資源交流或鏈結資料之效益。

To disambiguate identical personal names is not only an important task of authority control at library but also a fundamental key to precision of assessing academic productivity. The purpose of the study is to sort out the major elements for name disambiguation and explore the issues common in different languages and issues pertaining only to Chinese names. This study reviews literature to examine how library, VIAF, ORCID and ISNI differentiate personal name records, and furthermore compares name and date information in sample authority records both from the Synergy of Metadata Resources in Taiwan and from VIAF. The research concludes with suggestions on enhancing information related to personal names, encouraging use of international standard identifier and applying multi-phase processes to improve precision of name disambiguation and linked data.
