以焦點團體探討照顧疑似SARS病嬰護理人員的經驗與因應行為

Nursing Experiences and Coping Behaviors of Caring for a Child with Suspected SARS a Focus Group Approach

摘要


本研究主要目的在探討照顧疑似SARS病嬰護理人員的經驗及因應行爲,不研究採立意取樣,以中部某醫學中心小兒加護病房8位護理人員照顧疑似SARS病嬰爲研究對象。採焦點團體研究法,透過團體會談及參與式觀察進行資料收集,再以內容分析法分析會談之資料,並形成主題,其研究結果顯示護理人員照顧疑似SARS病嬰的經驗感受共分爲(一)恐懼遭受傳染:(二)照護經驗的缺乏:(三)穿戴厚重的防護設備;(四)媒體宣染的恐慌:(五)傳染源的污名化:(六)背負專業的責任。而因應行爲包括:(一)保持互動距離;(二)制定照護的流程;(三)抑制生理需求:(四)阻隔具壓力的訊息與人物:(五)隱潢家人與自我隔離:(六)認命。期望此篇報告能對照顧曾疑似SARS病嬰之護理人員的經驗及因應行爲有初步認識,以提昇未來醫護人員然照顧病患的能力。

A locus group study of 8 nurses was conducted at a Medical Center in Middle Taiwan explore the experiences and coping behaviors of caring for a child with suspected SARS. The contents of discussion were tape recorded and transcribed. The analysis revealed six themes of experience: (1) frightened of being, infected; (2) lacking in specialized SARS caring experience; (3) wearing heavy protective clothing; (4) proclaiming the panic which was induced by the media; (5) being stigmatized as a source of infection; (6) shouldering the professional responsibility. Six themes of coping behaviors were: (1) to maintain distance. from the patients: (2) to set a standard care flow (3) to suppress physiology demand: (4) to isolate themselves from stressful information and people; (5) to conceal from their family their working with SARS patients; (6) to accept fate.. The results provided nurses with experiences and coping behaviors of caring for a suspected SARS patient and enhanced their abilities of caring for similar patients in the future.
