First-time Mother's Knowledge about the First Course of DPT Vaccine in Infant: A Descriptive Study

摘要

本研究旨在探討103位第一胎母親針對幼兒施打第一劑三合一疫苗的知識現況。研究對象的選取爲台北市某醫學中心就醫幼兒之第一胎母親爲主，採立意取樣方式，以「三合一疫苗預防接種知識」問卷進行調查，資料收集時間爲民國92年5月至6月止。研究結果顯示：生育第一胎母親之第一劑三合一疫苗的知識偏低（答對率33.1%）；主要知識來源爲醫院的醫護人員；母親的教育程度與疫苗之知識的了解呈顯著相關，即較高的教育程度有較高的疫苗知識。研究結果可供衛生單位制作幼兒施打三合一疫苗，衛生教育單張的指引；亦可讓醫護人員在衛教母親三合一疫苗知識時，提供副作用的評估及處理等更適切的衛教內容。

The purpose of this study was to assess the first time mothers' knowledge about the first course of DPT vaccine received by their babies. One hundred and three subjects were purposively selected from a medical center in Taipei area. Data were collected from May to June in 2003. The findings showed that mothers' knowledge about the primary course of DPT was low (33% correct). The primary source of knowledge was from healthcare providers. Mothers' educational level was statistically associated with know ledge of the DPT vaccine. The findings of this study can provide guidelines to healthcare providers to design health education program of evaluating and dealing with adverse events of vaccination and provide appropriate educational contents to first-time mothers.
