運用Watson理論照顧養護中心一位遷移壓力症候群老年住民之經驗

An Experience in Applying Watson's Theory in Caring for an Elderly Resident with Relocation Stress Syndrome in a Residential Home

摘要


隨著社會型態及家庭結構的轉變,老人居住於長期照護機構的比率持續增加,而遷移過程所導致的壓力及適應相關問題,是不容忽視的護理議題。本篇個案報告以Watson的人性關懷理論爲架構,藉由觀察、會談等方式收集資料,且依據Watson理論將護理評估分爲生理、心理、社會、靈性及環境等五個層面,確認個案有「遷移壓力症候群」的護理問題,並運用十項關懷照護因子做爲護理指施的指引,滿足個案身心靈及社會文化層面的整體性需求,進而促使其發展出正向健康行爲,成功因應遷移壓力。從照護過程中發現Watson理論應用於機構老人的成效,期本文可提供護理人員關懷照護之參考。

With changing social and familial structures, the rate of elders living in long-term care settings is increasing. Stresses and adjustment problems accompanied with the relocation process are important nursing issues. This case study applied Watson's Transpersonal Caring theory. Data were collected by observation and interview. According to Watson's theory nursing assessment included physical, psychological, societal, spiritual, and environmental domains. The result indicated that the main nursing problem was relocation stress syndrome. Ten carative factors was adopted to guide nursing interventions. Through satisfying this elderly residen's physical, psychological, spiritual, and social needs, the authors facilitated her to develop positive health behaviors and successfully cope with relocation stress. This nursing outcome showed the effectiveness of applying Watson's theory in institutionalized elders. It is hoped that this article can provide some points of reference for human caring process.
