摘要

符號互動論(Symbolic Interactionism)做爲一種哲學觀或思考架構，對本世紀社會心理學發展有重要影響，此理論是探索人及社會現象的一種理論視野，用以檢視現實社會世界的運作。本文首先從語言、論述與科學說明語言是人類互動所使用之符號，繼而闡述符號互動論的歷史發展，分析符號互動論的式微與再顯，最後呈現如何應用符號互動論思維於護理研究與護理知識發展上，此理論可以增加對人類健康行爲的瞭解，同時豐富目前在護理上所用的其他研充方法。

Language is a means of symbolic communication. From the Symbolic Interactionism perspective, it is imperative to understand what individual knows about their world and what they believe to be important. This article describes the history and nature of symbolic interactionism and shares the reasons for the decline and re-emergency of Symbolic Interactionism. The application of Symbolic Interactionism in nursing research and knowledge development was discussed.
