本研究旨在探討偏遠小校社區關係、組織文化與學校領導等學校經營層面,以補充國內偏遠小校學校經營之研究。以往對於偏遠小校之研究,大多聚焦於學校規模經營,主要以教育財政學角度來檢討之,卻忽略偏遠小校學校經營的實際情形。本研究實地走訪一所離島偏遠小型國中的學校經營,以質性研究途徑,試圖挖掘小校辦學的優勢。研究結果如下:一、小校與社區是互為永續發展的生命共同體;二、小校成員展現互為主體性的平等對話關係;三、小校成員營造關懷支持文化而捐棄科層異化病徵;四、教師以學生全人發展為終極關懷以摒除升學主義之迷思;五、校長重視關懷倫理以延續小校生命力。最後,本研究提出數點建議,以提供學校經營實務之參考。
This study explores the advantages of developing community relations and organizational culture for the remote small schools. By doing so, it aims to enrich the educational research of school management. Most previous educational research on remote small schools was focused on operation scale in terms of their educational finance rather than their specific advantages. This study tries to disclose the advantages of school operation in the remote small schools. Qualitative data were collected from the case study of junior high school in a small island. It concludes that (1) the remote small school is easy to form a mutual relation of partnership to its community; (2) the dialogue relations among teachers in this remote small school are interactively equal; (3) the teachers in this remote small school tends to shape the caring and supportive culture rather than developing the alienated and hierarchical culture; (4) the teachers are concentrated on whole-person education more than focused on academic work; and (5) the principal of this remote small school sees the caring ethics as the core value of school management.
