摘要

科學與宗教都是生命活力的展現，分辨其異同有助於正確結合和匯通彼此。作者試以生命多重相態的觀點，論說科學與宗教所擅長的生命層次與方法，藉以明瞭彼此的分際而導正人類文化的發展，對大自然及生命展現更高的敬重典和諧的互動。生命是多層相態的實體，身體是物質相態，體力是能量相態，生理和心理的運作指令是信息相態，所有表現指令的功能集合成群即所謂心或心靈。心靈之上是萬有本性，本文不討論。科學擅長於掌握物質與能量兩相態的現象，經過三、四百年來的發展，造就了當今繁盛的物質文明及新穎的技術和觀念。宗教擅長的是心靈和信息相態的現象，自遠古以來，人類就在追求形而上的生命體悟，宗教不僅是歷代人心的寄託和生命真諦的了悟，更為人類的發展提供許多的靈感。從生命多重相態的觀點，科學與宗教各有其存在價值，也常互相影響。它們的相輔相成，讓我們能夠建立正確的生命觀。生命的完整實現，必須仰賴它們的正確結合。

Both science and religion are two cultural features generated by the vitality of human life. The author tries to describe their essences based on the viewpoint of multiphase of life. The following discussions are thought to be able to benefit culture development in the future along a right way and also be capable of promoting humanity to respect and kindly treat all life beings on earth. Each life is the combination of four phases. The first is the body made of various materials known as matter phase. The second is the stamina that comes from the energy phase. The third are those physiological and psychological rhythms or regulations driven by various signals classified as information phase. All functions that generate information waves are organized as a system known as the mind.The phenomena of both material and energy phases are fully studied by the scientists for the past three hundred years. Through their endeavors we got many fruitful scientific concepts and technologies that improve our material lives very much today. On the other hand the religious masters are good at purifying both information and human minds since very long time ago. All human beings will feel comfortable as they contact religions. We can find that many people are always energized after they have religious commitments. Such contact seems can free mind from bindings. This freedom is much good for the development of our civilization. Both science and religion are complementary to each other in many levels and very necessary to sustain our culture or lives. To complete human life is to rely on the proper integration of them.
