本文由全球資訊化資本主義歷史轉化的角度,討論沒有城市的都市化現象、都會區域浮現趨勢,以及,華人城市的歷史特殊性。作者指出當前主要的都市問題是:城市的文化整合所必須的意義傳播、溝通、與對話前提。而其出路正在於二都市政治中的市民城市建構。在這個基礎上,本文主張“城市”之問的歷史對話,討論華人城市的文化、公共空間的營造與公共藝術的意義。作者分由以下幾點做進一步的處理:1.城市是強調共享而非同化的都市文化;2.都市計劃與城市文化的結合原則;3.公共空間與公共藝術做為改善公共地方的社會交往性手段;4.電子通訊與網際網路(互聯網,Internet)在虛擬社區與真實社區之問提供了一種普及與全新的溝通、傳播形式;5.都市象徵的意義競爭上,公共空間與公共藝術的社會溝通、對話作用。作者以何岸與盧昊的公共藝術作品做為說明的例子。最後,作者通過王惠民的《城隍廟》做為結論,說明真實空間、虛擬空間、以及象徵空間的張力,以及,全球鉅形都會區域裡,公共空間與公共藝術的多重意義競爭空間。
The paper discusses the urbanization without cities, the emerging metropolitan regions, and the historical specificity of Chinese cities, through the perspective of historical transformation of global informational capitalism. The author points out the current major urban question, which is a prerequisite of communication and dialogue of the cultural integration of cities. The alternative is the constitution of the citizens city. Based on this premise, the paper argues the historical dialogue between cities to discuss the cultures of Chinese cities, the building of public space, and the meanings of public arts. Then, the author deals with the issues as follows: 1. Sharing than assimilation of urban cultures; 2. Integration urban planning with the cultures of the cities; 3. Considering public spaces and public arts as the ways of the sociability of public places; 4. Internet provides a new form of communication between real and virtual communities; 5. The communication and dialogue effects of the public spaces and public arts in terms of the contested space of symbolic expression. The works of An He and Hao Lu are given as examples to elaborate upon. Finally, through Cheng Huang Miao (The City God), the work of Hui-ming Wang in the old city center of Zhang Chiang, Shianghai as a conclusion, the author interprets the tensions between real space, virtual space and symbolic space, and furthermore, the contested space of multiple meanings of public spaces and public arts in the global mega metropolitan regions.
