This paper explores the bionics and pictiographs ideas of Chinese traditional construction, proposing that their guiding ideology is the philosophy for the harmony of heaven, earth and man, and that their cultural resources are the worship of reproduction and totem, and the idea of fengshui. Four aspects of them are discussed Man, animals including phoenix, tortoise, carp, ao-fish, dragon, cow, crab, snake, and centipede, etc., plants including calabash, plum blossom, or implements including pipa, ship, dish, basin, bell, chessboard and the Eight Diagrams, and their cultural connotation are studied.
