Knowledge, Attitude and Behavioral Intention to Traditional Chinese Medicine among Nurses

摘要

本研究目的為探討護理人員對中醫藥的知識、態度、行為意向並探討影響其知識、態度、行為之因素及相關性。採問卷調查法，以某醫學中心的護理人員為研究對象，採分層集體抽樣，有效問卷計929份，研究結果顯示：(1)對中醫藥的知識方面：平均得分為18.43±2.85(總分25分)，平均答對率73.7%。(2)對中醫藥的態度方面：平均得分為61.58±4.75(總分90分)，護理人員對於中醫藥持正向的態度。(3)護理人員求診中醫藥的行為在中度以下；使用中醫藥的行為中，以曾經使用民間常用的中藥補品調理身體居多，各種傷病之醫療傾向以肌肉骨骼疾病居多。(4)中醫藥知識與態度存在顯著的正相關，中醫藥態度與行為有顯著正相關。(5)中醫藥知識的影響因素有：年齡、工作科別、生產經驗、曾修過中醫藥學分。(6)中醫藥態度的影響因素有：籍貫、工作科別、年資、曾修過中醫藥學分、曾接觸中醫藥知識。(7)中醫藥行為的影響因素有：生產經驗、曾接觸中醫藥知識、曾修過中醫藥學分、曾從事過中醫藥工作、曾參加中醫藥研習會。

The purpose of this study is to disclose the level of knowledge about, attitude toward and behavioral intentions of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and the related factors among nurses in a medical center. The method adopted in this study was cross-sectional survey. Nurses answered a structured questionnaire during the time from Nov. 2000 to March 2001. The total number of valid questionnaires was 929. The main findings of this study were as follows: (1) The mean score of knowledge about TCM was 18.43 out of a possible 25. The mean correct response rate was 73.7%. (2) The mean score of attitude toward TCM was 61.58 out of a possible 90. Nurses’ attitude toward TCM was positive. (3) The behavioral intention of TCM was under moderate degree. The most frequent inclination asking the help of TCM was tonics and suffering from symptoms and signs of muscle-skeletal discomfort. (4) There existed positive correlation between knowledge and attitude, and between behavioral intention and attitude scores. (5) Nurses’ age, work-unit, the experience of process of birth and the experience of receiving courses on TCM were the related factors of nurses’ knowledge about TCM. (6) Nurses’ birthplace, work-unit, numbers of years as a nurse, the experience of receiving courses on TCM and the experience of accepting knowledge of TCM were the related factors of nurses’ attitude toward TCM. (7) The experience of process of birth, the experience of receiving courses on TCM, the experience of accepting knowledge of TCM, the experience of job related to TCM and the experience of participating conference in TCM were the related factors of nurses’ behavioral intention of TCM.
