This paper investigates the ethical issues concerning using care robot in health care. The authors introduce the ＂capability approach＂ in examining the ethical impact on person-being cared, care giver, and the society from using different types of care robot. The ＂care centered value-sensitive design＂ and the ＂responsible research and innovation＂ models for ethical robotic research are then proposed. It is hoped that such ethical reflection and models for research will be helpful for the researchers, ethics reviewers, policy makers and robot users in the processes of development and application of care robot.
