近十年來台灣地區高等教育擴充甚速,有關大學教育的品質如何值得關切。本研究目的在了解我國高等教育學府大學生的知識教育成果及其相關因素。其方法是使用台灣高等教育資料庫中,2004年所蒐集之全國性第一波29,046份大三學生問卷調查所得之資料,以統計方法分析大學生的課業學習狀況與知識教育成果,並探討大學生的背景、課業學習狀況與知識教育成果是否相關。研究發現包括下列四點:(1)我國大學生不論在「廣泛知識」或「專業知能」上的教育成果皆不盡理想,但後者高於前者。(2)我國大學生積極參與課業的程度不高。(3)我國大學生不論在「廣泛知識」或「專業知能」上的教育成果與父母學歷、性別、主修類別及住校與否無關,但公立校院學生在「專業知能」上的教育成果高於私立技職校院學生。(4)大學生知識教育成果的高低,與其是否積極參與課堂活動有關。
Higher education in Taiwan expanded rapidly in the recent decade. The quality of college education has been the concern of many people. The purpose of this study is to explore the educational outcomes and the related variables of college undergraduates. Data of a national survey of 29,046 junior students collected in the Taiwan Higher Education Survey in spring, 2004 were used, and the relationship of junior students' educational outcomes and their background variables and academic involvement were analyzed. Research findings are as follows: First, on average, knowledge outcomes of college students are not satisfactory, however, outcomes of domain specific knowledge are better than those of general knowledge. Second, on average, college students' are not highly involved in academic activities. Third, students' outcomes of domain specific knowledge at public institutions are better than those at private institutions. Fourth, there is a positive relationship between educational outcomes and students' involvement in class activities.
