A Study on the Application of Grey Entropy and Rough Set Method to the Weighting of Relevant Subjects in Elementary School Test Scores

The purpose of test grade is to verify students' understanding level of courses and for teachers to determine whether students can achieve the learning objectives. Teaching methods need to be amended or further provide corrective instructions to help students achieve the learning objectives. Tests and examinations help students understand their learning progress and help the teachers inspect the effectiveness of their teaching methods. Unlike other research methods, such as students' family factors, this research used grades as a variable to compare the results of each class subject of the whole class; then analyze the weight of various subjects and assist to the subject teachers' teaching methods to improve the subject results. Therefore, this research uses the grey entropy and rough set method to analyze the fifth grade students of Changhua County elementary in a class 29, school year 101---the grades of middle exams in second semester. With the grey entropy method and rough set method analyzing various subjects examinations' weighting and having it sorted to compare, the results showed that the subject that scored the highest in grades was English. After analysis, the redesigned curriculum with better content and reinforcing makeup teaching will be proposed and considered as a way to enhance the performance of students’ on the subject.
