當代生物科技對生物多樣性的影響及課程因應之道

Reflect on Biotechnology and Curriculum from Biodiversity

摘要


當代生物科技的發展具有兩面性,一方面新興知識不斷躍進,另一方面則帶來更多社會的衝擊。不論是科技新知的猛進或是人類與其棲息地之間永續生存的問題,都成為悠關所有實踐面的急務,包括教育、政治、經濟都將受到影響,然而,我們的教育卻仍然停留於無視這些變遷,課程的內容和教學的過程無所因應。基於生物多樣性對生物科技的反省,本文主張課程應該能對於人類事務主動參與和理解,一方面引導個體解讀科技發展,以不同的觀點來面對生命的意義,一方面也必須讓個體學會如何更謙虛地面對自然的奧妙,重建科技的新倫理。

The increase speed of knowledge on biotechnology have challenged the content of curriculum. The crisis of sustainability, the relationship between humanity and its habitat, manifest in varying ways and degrees everywhere on earth .It is not only a problem on the public agenda, but also on the education, economic, culture and policy. The content of our curriculum and the process of education have not taken a few notable exceptions. Nowadays, we must care about our environment, we must acquaint students with deeper causes of biotechnology and biodiversity. Curriculum must encourage the development of ecological competence through caring the technology, humanity and all life on earth.
