本文旨在探究教科書市場開放後,各民間出版商如何從事國中社會領域教科書的發展工作,包括基本理念、面臨問題、及因應策略等,例如各出版商如何符合課程綱要裡強調統整的精神,如何轉化和詮釋綱要內涵,成為具體的教科書內容,發展過程中受哪些因素影響,以及採取哪些因應策略等。為達本研究之目的,本研究採質性研究法,並以目前從事國中社會領域教科書發展之各出版商的編輯成員、課程綱要制訂者、及專家學者為研究對象進行訪談。研究結果發現,「課程統整」是編寫國中社會領域教科書的核心概念;大多數的出版社均能致力於合科的課程設計方式,惟仍未臻完善;雖關注到其他學習領域及六大議題的連結,惟未能深入處理;在課程綱要的詮釋與轉化過程中,尚充滿理想與現實的差距仍有待逐步調整;常面臨來自出版商與編輯成員等方面的問題,未來需加強編輯群間的互動與協同設計,重視教科書試教及實驗等工作,並大量投資於各項教科書研發工作上,以培養發展教科書的專業能力。
This study attempts to inquire publishers' ideal、problem s and solvable methods in developing junior-high-school social studies textbooks. After liberalizing the authorized version of textbooks in Taiwan, publishers have made efforts to improve the quality of textbooks so as to obtain a good market. However, how do they make use of the concept of integrated curriculum? Which factors influence the process of the development of textbooks? What problems are they suffering? What are their solvable methods? In order to accomplish the purposes mentioned above, this study applies the methods of document analysis and interview. According to the data analysis and discussion, the main results were synthesized as follows: (1) The integrated curriculum is the major concept of developing textbooks; (2)The course of converting the ”1-9 New Curriculum Guideline” into textbooks' substantial content is not complete; (3)The editors of each publishing firm face different influential factors and problems; (4)In future, they must deal with the issues about communicating different groups of editors, lacking the process of experiment and trial teaching, and paying more attention to professional growth and research.
