Curriculum Integration in Hong Kong Primary Schools: Review and New Path

摘要


香港的課程發展議會發表的《學會學習 - 課程發展路向》文件中,就學校課程發展的策略建議:「確保所有學習領域、學科均有連貫性 ⋯透過跨學習領域的學習,也能讓學生從多角度觀察事物」。回顧香港的小學教育,課程統整並不是新生事物,相關的措施包括1975年推行的活動教學、1985年推行的公民教育、1996年推行的常識科及2001年推行的「學會學習」課程改革等。展望將來,學校和教師推行課程統整要面對的挑戰實在不少,其中以能否透過「統整課程的生活化學習」、「學生為中心的課程統整」和「專業教師的參與」作為統整的新路向,尤為關鍵。

The official document entitled ”Learning to Learn-The Way Forward in Curriculum Development”, published by the Hon Kong Curriculum Development Council (CDC) on the strategies of curriculum development, recommends: ”ensures coherence across Key Learning Areas/subjects ”. Cross-Key Learning Areas studies also allow students to see things from different perspectives” (CDC, 2001, p.24). By reviewing the primary school education in Hong Kong, the author concludes that curriculum integration is not a new issue in Hong Kong; and by looking forward, there are many challenges to the implementation. Critical factors that influence the new path of curriculum integration include ”daily-life learning in integrated curriculum”, ”student-centered curriculum integration”, and ”participation of professional teachers”.
