教科書研究方法論之探究

Methodologies on Textbook Research

摘要


教科書是學校教育、課程與教學的核心,因此,有關教科書的研究非常重要。近年來我國的教科書研究遽增,對教科書研究的關注也由數量的增加轉向品質的提升。提升教科書研究品質的一個關鍵點在於是否有良好的研究方法與工具;而良好的研究方法與工具,需要基於健全的教科書研究方法論。有鑑於此,本研究首先探討教科書研究方法論的發展背景,繼而分析教科書研究方法論的典範與意涵,並說明量化與質性教科書研究的各種方法的特質與限制,最後結論建議研究者要了解各種教科書研究典範和方法,也要瞭解它們的適用性與限制,以及彼此之間的關係,並視教科書的本質與特質選擇適當的研究方法,共同發展典範整合、科際整合、方法整合的教科書研究方法論。

Textbooks are the cores of education, curriculum and instruction. Therefore, research related to textbooks is absolutely important. In recent years, the number of the related studies has been on the increase, and the focus of textbooks studies has been centered on the improvement of quality, but not on the increase of quantity. One of the clinchers to improve the quality of textbooks depends on the characteristics of research method and instrument; the characteristics of research method and instrument are based on the methodologies of textbook research. Taking these into consideration, the researchers of the present study probed into the developmental background of research method first, analyzed the paradigm and meaning of the research method, and then illustrated the characteristics and limitations of each quantitative or qualitative research method. In conclusion, not only did the researchers attempt to understand both paradigm and method of textbook research, but they also comprehended applicability, limitations and relationship between each other. Furthermore, the researchers would select appropriate research method in accordance with innate characteristics and specialty, and develop the integration of paradigms, integration of disciplines, and integration of methods.
