流行歌曲文本分析及教學:以國小六年級學生為例

Text Analysis and Instruction of Popular Songs: Six-grade Student's Media Course

摘要


流行歌曲是中小學生生活的重要部分,研究者以七首流行歌曲為素材,分析歌詞及影帶文本,設計四個單元、進行十四堂課的教學。教學對象為桃園縣安全國小(化名)六年級32名學童,以提升國小學童對流行歌曲的媒體素養,也即是Potter的認知、情緒、美學、道德四面向。結果顯示,在認知方面,學生能瞭解歌詞及MV意涵及延伸、能比較媒體與現實訊息、知道情歌為流行歌曲主流、能辨識歌曲中的文化元素,進而知道流行歌曲產業。在情緒面向,學生對本課程有高度學習動機、對文本的描述能感同身受、對主題的熟悉影響學習參與,認同學校票選畢業歌曲的作法。在美學方面,「表演型」MV較受學生歡迎、MV畫面昏暗會降低學生觀看意願。在道德面向,瞭解美的追求並非侷限在外表、男女分手應避免不當處理、能指出MV中開槍及其他不當畫面。教學結束六個月後進行訪談,受訪同學認為本課程有助於他們聽歌或看MV時思考流行歌曲歌詞及MV意涵。從教學方案進行的觀點,本研究提升學生流行歌曲的素養。然因本研究為個案研究,後續可擴大範圍,或針對四面向其中的某些面向做更深入探究。

Popular songs play an important role in the lives of children. In this study the author chooses seven popular songs and designs fourteen forty- minute classes to teach thirty-two 6th graders to enhance their popular song literacy in cognitive, emotional, aesthetic, and moral aspects. The participants are students of An-Chuan Elementary School (not a real name) in Taoyuan County. The findings are as follows: 1. On the cognitive aspect: Children show more understanding about the lyrics and MVs. They know that the images or lyrics are different from the real world, and recognize the cultural elements of popular songs and start to know the industry of popular songs. 2. On the emotional aspect: Students show high motivation toward this course, and they take the lyrics and MV images seriously. Their engagement is influenced by the familiarity of the theme, and they identify with school's idea of having the 6th graders choose their graduation song. 3. On the aesthetic aspect: Children like performing type MV, especially those with strong tempo and dance steps. MVs with dark and gray hue reduce children's desire to watch. 4. On the moral aspect: Students are more likely to pinpoint the improper lyrics and images on MV after the instruction. And they are able to build up more healthy and correct value. The follow-up interview after the instruction shows the findings valid. From the unit-teaching perspective, this study promotes the student's media literacy of popular songs. Yet since it is a case study, in the future, scholars can increase the number of participants or explore specific aspect of literacy in depth.
