The most important objective of basketball referees is to uphold a fair competition. The referees' attitude and mental factors while officiating will affect athletes' performance and competitive outcomes. However, the influence of referees' team work has not been discussed. The purpose of this article is to discuss the concept of basketball referees' collaboration and cooperation. By integrating the basketball referee's manual with the author's observations, the results indicated four elements to improve flow experience: communication, assistance, stability and emotions. It suggests that the training program for officiating individuals and units could incorporate these four elements, and thus increase consensus-building teamwork, reduce false judgments, and improve the image of basketball referees.
