The exegete Bang-Cai Wang of Qing Dynasty published ”The Annotations of Li Sao”, whose themes, except the tripartite analyses of Li Sao in it, have never been a focus throughout the academia of Chu Ci studies. In the prologue of the book, Bang-Cai Wang indicated that the seven major fallacies made by other exegetes while they annotated Li Sao have caused misinterpretation of it. Despite his sporadic mentioning of seven fallacies, Bang-Cai Wang did not elaborate on detailed characteristics and follow-up influences of each. Accordingly, this paper intends to unfold the very secrets of seven fallacies aforesaid and mark off their boundaries, further replenishing what lacks in Bang-Cai Wang's discourse. Moreover, we attempt to quest for any reliable exegetes while revealing the silhouettes of seven fallacies in this paper, hoping that Bang-Cai Wang could advance a bit from the margin to the core of the literary world
