Gallstone ileus is a mechanical intestinal obstruction caused by impaction of one or more gallstones in the lumen of bowel. This condition is unusual but a well-documented cause of intestinal obstruction in the eldely. Despite advances in diagnostic modality and improved imaging study, the diagnosis is frequently missed or unduly delayed. Preoperative and postoperative management of gall stone liens is associated with high morbidity and mortality rate. This is a presentation of gallstone obstruction at level of distal jejunum that was recently treated in our institution. Thu gall stone impaction was diagnosed by upper G-I series with meglumine diatrizoate (Gastrografin) swallow. He received operations of segmental jejunum resection and cholecystoduedenal fistula closure sucuerrfully.
