Infection control is very important issue in long-term care. History of infection control in Taiwan, the specific characteristics of infection control in long-term care, and the control and management of infection in long-term care are proposed in this paper. To ensure safety, rights and interests for residents of long-term care, and to continually promote quality of long-term care, it is imperative to drive not only passive infection control, but also total quality management by initiative positive attitude in long-term care facilities.
