The personal and social life skill training programs have been extensively studied and the results have shown positive effects. These programs which were based on the psychosocial model provide general life skill training for adolescent, for example, enhancing self-esteem, making informed decisions, communication effectively, managing stress, setting personal goals and drug resistance skills. The main purpose of this article will introduce the components of the personal and social life skill training. We hope this article will help people working in prevention from schools across communities develop and build their own strategies for drug abuse prevention in the future.
