Avulsion fracture of the anterior superior iliac spine (ASIS) is a rare injury that occurs mainly in young athletes participating in vigorous sports activities. Conventionally the treatment has been confined to rather conservative or non-operative treatment. We report avulsion of the ASIS in two young students following a 100 meter sprint at a single school event. After the examination and diagnosis, we performed open reduction and internal fixation for both patients to minimize the recovery time.
