This paper aimed to explore the care experience that applied logotherapy to the hopelessness of a case with spinal cord injury. The period of nursing care began from February 9 to March 10, 2014. The data were collected by ways of observation, interviews, physical evaluation, and group discussion of the medical team. The main nursing problems were dysuria, impaired physical mobility, hopelessness, and dysfunction of family coping. The primary nurse applied the spirit of active care to the case, including realizing the inner world, providing individualized care, and improving acute physical symptoms. The skills of logotherapy were applied to lead the case to face the current situation, to search for manageable resources, and to choose meaningful way of life. Therefore, the sense of value of life existence regained.
