比較不同身體活動量和身體質量指數對大學生生活品質的影響

Comparison of Quality of Life Among University Students With Different BMI and Levels of Physical Activity

摘要


背景與目的:生活品質包含生理健康與心理兩大層面,研究證實許多慢性疾病族群中,身體質量指數和身體活動量對健康生活品質有很大的影響。本研究目的以健康大學生族群為研究對象,探討身體質量指數及身體活動量對其生活品質所造成的影響。方法:本研究於某私立大學校園內共徵招130名大學生(男性92名,女性38名,平均年齡21.0 ± 1.2歲),進行身高、體重測量,以及問卷填寫。生活品質以Short Form Health Survey (SF-36)問卷評估受試者,身體活動量以國際身體活動量表(International Physical Activity Questionnaire, IPAQ)評估測量。結果:依照受試者之身體活動量分為低、標準及高身體活動量三組。研究結果發現高身體活動量及標準身體活動量組的大學生之社會功能表現皆顯著優於低身體活動量組。在身體質量指數方面,肥胖組的大學生其生理及心理健康功能的表現皆顯著低於體位正常組的大學生。結論:低身體活動量與肥胖對於年輕的大學生在生活品質有負面的影響,維持規律的身體活動與健康體位有助於大學生提升心理健康及生活品質。

Background and Purpose: The composition of health-related quality of life includes both physical and psychological domain. It has been reported that body mass index (BMI) and physical activity affect quality of life in patients with varied chronic diseases population. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of physical activity level and BMI in quality of life among university students. Methods: One hundred and thirty students were recruited from a university campus (92 men, 38 women, 21.0 ± 1.2 years). The quality of life was assessed by Short-Form Health Survey (SF-36) questionnaire. Level of physical activity was assessed by a self-reported questionnaire (International Physical Activity Questionnaire, IPAQ). Results: According to the level of physical activity, subjects were divided into low, adequate and high physical activity groups. Subjects with high and adequate level of physical activity have better quality of life than subjects with low level of physical activity, especially in the mental component subscales. In the category of BMI, obese group have more poor performance in physical function and psychological function than those in normal weight group. Conclusions: Low physical activity and obesity lead to worse quality of life among university students. Maintaining regular physical activity and healthy body shape helps university students improve mind health and quality of life.
