本研究旨在探討英國競技運動員個人獎勵制度的實施,闡述其相關經驗、成果及意涵。研究採取質性研究策略中之文件分析法及深度訪談方式進行。研究結果發現:英國競技運動員個人獎勵制度的開端主要是獲得國家樂透基金的挹注,經由英國運動委員會的實質推動,並對英國世界級及具潛力的運動員提供生活津貼及運動訓練上的各種補助。其成果主要顯現於英國在北京奧運及其他國際競技運動成績的表現,已經獲得相當程度的進步。結論歸納此一獎勵制度實施背後的意涵,分別為獎勵制度對競技運動成績的提升,具有促進的作用;促成新型態全職運動員的出現;造成運動選手價值觀的轉變;以及運動員獎勵制度永續發展的可能性考量。
The study aimed to explore the implementation of the Athlete Personal Awards (APA) program in UK through depicting the experiences, outcomes, and the implications of its implementation. By reviewing documentary materials and conducting in-depth interviews, the analytical results revealed that: the support of National Lottery Fund has contributed to the inauguration of the APA program; that having been substantially promoted by UK Sport; and that the APA program provided living and sport training costs for UK's World Class and talented athletes. Meanwhile, the major outcome of implementing the APA referred to the dramatic improvements in UK's athletes' performance in the Beijing Olympic Games as well as other international competitions. The study concluded that the implementation of the APA program with four implications. First, the contribution to promoting elite sport performance by the APA program. Second, the emergence of full-time athletes. Third, the value change of athletes. And finally, the possibility of sustainable development of the APA program.
