With a perspective of career guidance for the ID students, this study aims to understand the senior high students how to choose industrial design as their major before entering the university, and to concern their frustrations when they studied ID, as well as the employment conditions after graduation. This study adopted a depth interview method to collect data. Two freshmen, one alumnus, and one design faculty from ID department were chosen to interview. The findings are as follows: 1) Although the reasons for senior high students to choose ID as their major are not similar, both students and their parents feel uncertain for the future development of the ID profession. 2) Even though students from the senior high school decided to major at ID due to their interests, however, they confronted frustrations and pressures in the university and highly needed affirmations from others. 3) Students pursued achievements and self-accomplishment on their design works. 4) During the processes of learning and assessment, if not appropriately communicate, the students' emotions would be affected by the different perspectives at design between faculty and students as well as between faculty. 5) Corporations expect not only on designers' professional skills, but also on their learning attitudes and ability.
