The purpose of this study is to explore the constructive factors for Cultural Images with a specific focus on the native Pai-Wan tribe, which has abundant cultural artifacts. The research focuses on exploring the Glass Bead, which is the best representative in both art and culture of the Pai-Wan tribe's three greatly-treasured artifacts. After extensive interviews with craftsmen, tribal residents and consumers, a qualitative research based on grounded theory was conducted. The qualitative research was carried out by using the Winmax98 pro computer software in order to identify important and significant underlying codes (meaning) for the constructive factors of the symbolism of Glass Bead's Cultural Images. The results obtained can be grouped into two categories: inherent factor and external factor. The inherent factor is sub-divided into four factors: Culture Identity and Inheritance, Hierarchical System, Religious Belief and Beauty. External factor includes Exterior Form, Color and Totem.
