摘要

台灣藍鵲身長64-65 cm，尾巴長有40 cm，雌雄體毛色相似。頭、頸及胸皆爲黑色，眼部爲高亮度黃色，嘴及褪爲紅色；其餘體毛呈深藍至紫色。翅膀及尾部有白條紋。其金黃色之嘴及腿，視之似載黑帽著藍襯衫衣及著金黃色鞋之美少女，此種天然美色之台灣藍鵲在2008年票選活動中脫穎而出當選爲台灣國鳥，實至名歸。

Formosan Blue Magpie is about the size of 64-65 cm and tail measures 40 cm in length. The colors of male and female look alike. Its head, neck and breast are black; eyes are iridescent yellow; bill and legs are red; the rest of the plumage on the bird is a rich dark blue to purple in color. It has white markings on the wings and the tail. Due to its bright golden yellow bill and legs which are similar to a girl with black hat, blue shirt and trousers with golden shoes, dressing in blue clothes (plumage), Formosan blue magpie can be called as nature colorful dress and had been elected as the national bird of Taiwan in 2008.
