The wild population of Rubus niveus Thunb. (Rosaceae) is recently reported from eastern Taiwan. Although the name "R. niveus" had once been adopted for the Flora of Taiwan, it was excluded in the latest taxonomic revision in 2009 as previous records were in fact corresponded to R. incanus Sasaki ex T. S. Liu & Yang Our discovery, therefore, reconfirms the occurrence of R. niveus in Taiwan. R. niveus could be distinguished from other congeners in having compound leaves with 7-9 leaflets, leaflets abaxially densely whitish tomentose, umbellate corymbs, pink flowers with erect petals, and unprickled calyx.
