『濱松中納言物語』中有關「異鄉」的詞語-透過池邊義象‧三島由紀夫‧中村真一郎的方法

Regarding 'Strange Land' through the Language of Hamamatsu Chunagon Monogatari: In Ikebe Yoshikata, Mishima Yukio and Nakamura Shinichiro

摘要


平安時代後期的物語『濱松中納言物語』中描繪著各種次元的「異鄉」,但是其中最重要的「異鄉」是「異國」。本作品的主要舞臺是「異國」,以平安時代的物語來說此設定相當特殊,也因此為此作增添了不少魅力,但是也有人對此種異國描寫感到困惑,若未理解其時代的制約則無法平心閱讀。當初作者在創作時,假想的讀者群或許是極為狹窄範圍的、不會去「異國」的人們,那麼作者始料未及的讀者(例如身處現代的我們)該如何讀解這篇作品呢?但是,從某些意義上來說,每個讀者心中都有「異鄉」,而且這個作品應該也面對了所有描述「異鄉」的作品所必然產生的問題。為了尋求讀者理解作品的線索頭緒,筆者將利用幾部與『浜松中納言物語』有關的近代文學作品,忖測『濱松中納言物語』與這些近代作品之間的距離感,來思考『濱松中納言物語』中的「異鄉」所蘊含的意義。

Strange lands of various dimensions are incorporated in Hamamatsu Chunagon Monogatari, a story in the Late Heian Period. The most significant one in this work is 'a foreign country.' It is deemed to be peculiar as a literary opus in the Heian period, since it deals with a foreign country as its main stage, which makes the story attractive. On the other hand, it has been evaluated that it makes readers feel confused about the description of the foreign country and could not be readable without certain conditions. How should the tale, supposedly written for noble woman with no chance to visit any foreign country, be perused by those, including us, whom the auther never imagined to be a reader? Everyone has strange lands in some sense, and the auther must have faced the problems which are inevitably involved in the stories telling strange lands. Taking up some modern literary works surrounding Hamamatsu Chunagon Monogatari as a clue to seek for the point of contact between readers and works, measuring the sense of distance among them, what is devoted to the strange land in the tale shall be considered.
