Hallux Valgus in Difference Types of Dancers

摘要

Foot injuries are most common in dancers. In this study, we evaluated the hallux valgus degree in senior Ballet dancers, Chinese folk dancers and modern dancers to know the different type of long term dancing training on dancers' foot structure. Methods: Data were collected on 100 subjects, 80 subjects were dancers (31 subjects were modern dancers, 30 subjects were Chinese folk dancers, 19 subjects were Ballet dancers), and 20 subjects were neither dancers nor athletics. All subjects performed a Imaging Test of Hallux Valgus. Results and conclusions: There was no significant difference between left side and right side foot structure in each groups. The degree of hallux valgus in left side were greater in Ballet group and Chinese folk group, but the degree of hallux valgus in right side were greater in Ballet group. The results showed that Ballet and Chinese folk dance need more dancing skill of foot, especially in ballet dancer's right side.
