Objective: To study infant-feeding attitude among Macau postpartum women in hospital. Methods: The Chinese postpartum women (n=468) were recruited from a public hospitals in Macau. The Macau Chinese version of IIFAS scale was employed to the cross sectional study; the participants completed the questionnaire at postpartum 3 days before discharge. Results: The mean score of IIFAS was 58.94±6.21 at 3 days postpartum. Women who were exclusively breastfeeding at 1 and 3 days postpartum had significantly higher IIFAS scores than mothers who were either mix feeding or exclusive formula-feeding at the same stage (P<0.01). Compare the exclusive breastfeeding rate between 1 days and 3 days postpartum (52.8%, 52.4%), there were not significantly different (P>0.05). Conclusions: The score of IIFAS of Macau postpartum women were at a medium-high level. Higher IIFAS scores predicted breastfeeding attitude and breastfeeding action.
