摘要

本文除分別論述聖十字若望和聖女大德蘭對默觀的看法外，尚且在比較中從（一）本質上的吻合、（二）細節上的互補、（三）連合中的啟發、（四）相融中的差別等議題上企圖給二聖的理論作一貫通與綜合，以提示聖衣會靈修的精髓、及西方神秘學的盛況。

This article compares St. John of the Cross and St. Teresa of Avila with regard to their theories and practice of contemplation. Similarities and contrasts between them are studied with the discovery that the two systems throw light on each other in different ways resulting in a comprehensive synthesis which is at the summit of western mysticism.
