A Serological Survey of Avian Pneumovirus Infections in Chickens in Taiwan

摘要

於2001年五月期間，自台灣全島的65個種雞場，共82個20週齡以上種雞群採集到1288個血清樣本。另外在同一時間，自北台灣的32個4－6週齡肉雞場和25個4－21週齡混種肉雞場分別採取到604個和411個血清樣本。檢測方式為利用商品化的酵素連結免疫吸附（ELISA）試驗套組來偵測血清樣本中的抗家禽肺病毒（APV）的抗體。結果顯示，所有的種雞場皆會暴露於APV下；種雞群的總陽性率為90.6－94.1％，而種雞陽性率則為78.1－81.2％。肉雞群的陽性率為37.5－59.4，肉雞陽性率為56－68％。此外，混種肉雞群的陽性率為56－68％，混種肉雞的陽性率為33.6－39.2％。自以上結果可推論APV的感染在台灣是相當廣泛性的，生物安全防護對本病的預防的重要性並予以討論。

In May 2001, a total of 1288 serum samples were collected from 82 breeder flocks of 65 breeder farms in Taiwan. Another 604 serum samples from 32 broiler farms and 411 serum samples from 25 hybrid broiler farms located in northern Taiwan were also collected during the same period. A commercial enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) kit was used to detect antibodies against avian pneumovirus (APV) in the serum samples. The results indicated that all breeder farms have been exposed to APV. The positive rate of total breeder flock was 90.6-94.1 %, and the breeder chicken positive rate was 78.1-81.2% at the age of 20-69 weeks. The broiler flock positive rate was 37.5-59.4%, and the broiler positive rate was 17.7-23% at the age of 4-6 weeks. At the age of 4-20 weeks, the hybrid broiler flock positive rate was 56-68%, and the hybrid broiler positive rate was 33.6-39.2%. It is concluded that the APV infections in chickens are widespread in Taiwan. The importance of biosecurity on the prevention of APV infections is discussed.
